Have you recently started a small business in Ottawa? We want to hear from you

Thank you for visiting OttawaReport.com, Ottawa’s local news start-up. Starting a new business can be daunting, and it can be frustrating trying to get the word out about what you’re trying to do.

While this is primarily a news site, I also want it to be a community where citizens and small businesses can share what’s going on in their lives and entrepreneurial endeavors.

As such, every Monday we’ll be running a feature called Now Open, featuring blurbs about all of the new businesses out there in the nation’s capital and surrounding regions. This isn’t about advertising with us, and there is no charge. It’s simply an opportunity to let our readers know about what you’re up to, and maybe get some traction on the Internet while you’re at it.

If you’re interested in having your new capital region business featured in Now Open, please send the following information to jgordon@ottawareport.com:

  1. The name of your business
  2. Your location, a phone number and/or email, and your hours of operation
  3. Your opening date
  4. A blurb about who you are and a description of your business. E.G. “My name is Joan Smith and as a longtime fan of widgets, I’ve always wanted to build a business around widget manufacturing and distribution. Ottawa Widget Experts is offering Service A, B, and C to Kanata residents and anyone who enjoys widgets.”
  5. An image of your storefront, interior or company logo.
