Have you seen this downtown gun theft suspect?

Ottawa police are seeking the public’s assistance to identify a man wanted for mischief and theft of a firearm.

At approximately 6:45 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, a .308 Browning hunting rifle and ammunition were stolen from a vehicle in the area of Waller Street and Besserer Street. The man was seen walking towards Cumberland Street at 7:00 a.m. with the stolen items.

Police describe the man as wearing a white baseball hat, gray gloves, blue jeans with a black hoodie or jacket and blue shoes.

The stolen items were in a black backpack and a black rifle case.
